Do a little rant, write a little love, get down tonight...

People suck.

Cynical? Maybe. But true nonetheless.

Thirty towns, including Boston where I live, are under a 'boil water' order due to a major break in the main water supply that feeds the area. So ok, it's a little inconvenient, but T and I are boiling water for our use etc. So why do people suck?

We have a home-bound elderly neighbor who is the sweetest person in the world. But at 95, she's a bit frail and occasionally needs help. She's far too stubborn to ask for it so we just do what we do and check in with her.

So, knowing there is a water issue, T and I went out to get her a couple of cases of water.

Well, we got to Costco and I swear to God you'd have thought the Apocalypse was upon us. People were hoarding water at a disgusting rate. Thirty-forty cases were being hauled out at a time. In most instances, these cases were being loaded into a BMW SUV or an Escalade.

Now granted, a couple people we ran into were getting water for a daycare they ran, or (like us) were stocking up for neighbors who couldn't get out. At least that's what they told us. It was a very small minority.

But most of the water hogs were wealthy--or at least middle class-- folks who 'couldn't be bothered' boiling their own water.

"All for one, and one for me."

Imagine if there was a really big just goes to show you that despite our civilized trappings, most people are feral by nature.

You can bet your sweet bottom my observations and sense of disgust from this experience will make it into my writing.

Yes I'm speaking to YOU Mister Ed Hardy wearing, fake tan, capped teeth bastard. I've already got a name for you picked out for my next book. And yes. You suck.
